About This Role

The Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive and assisting in activities that promote their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Teachers must have a deep understanding of child development and be able to create a stimulating and safe classroom environment where children can actively engage and succeed. They must also be skilled in listening, communication, and teamwork to work effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders. The Teacher must be able to observe and document children's progress, relay information to parents and staff, and assist in implementing a quality educational program. They must also be able to develop positive relationships with children and their parents, and communicate effectively to meet their needs and resolve concerns. Teachers must be able to guide teacher assistants, manage classroom materials, and maintain a clean and safe environment. They must also be willing to continuously improve their skills and knowledge through professional development.

• Develop and implement educational curriculum that aligns with early learning standards and developmentally appropriate practices, and lead by example to encourage teaching team success.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth, and ensure that children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed.
• Maintain open and regular communication with parents through progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and informal discussions, and ensure that parents are kept informed of their child's progress and well-being.
• Ensure that all center policies and state regulations are met, and maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment that promotes children's physical, emotional, and social development.
• Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure that they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards, and maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities, and encourage participation by children through role modeling and coaching.
• Actively engage in activities, manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials, and ensure smooth daily transitions from home to childcare center.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations, and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

• Must pass health screening and clear full background check.
• Must be certified in Infant/child CPR and First Aid.
• A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
• May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl, to handle objects, tools or controls, to talk to and hear voices at many levels, and to take frequent walks.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills.
• High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents), and to foster a team environment.
• Strong understanding of child development, and at least 6 months of professional childcare experience.
• High School Diploma or GED, and significant college credit in early childhood education or related field of study.

• Associate's degree in early childhood education
• Two or more years of professional childcare experience
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work a variety of schedules

• Starting Pay $15.00 per hr.
