Bar Manager Opening Team
Elephant Head Restaurant | Downtown Harrisonburg

Be a part of the opening team of a brand new restaurant concept in downtown Harrisonburg. Elephant Head Restaurant is an upscale casual full service restaurant opening summer 2026 and we are seeking an experienced, creative, and motivated Bar Manager to join our opening team.

Our restaurant will feature a warm, lively atmosphere with a chef-driven menu focused on seasonal local ingredients and thoughtfully sourced proteins, complemented by a creative cocktail program, curated wines, and local beers and ciders.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the beverage program and culture of a chef-owned restaurant focused on thoughtful hospitality, craft cocktails, and a dynamic bar experience.

Responsibilities Include:

• 
  Creating and developing cocktail recipes and beverage specials
• Managing liquor, beer, and wine inventory
• Placing beverage orders and maintaining vendor relationships
• Designing and maintaining dynamic bar menus
• Training and developing all bar staff
• Ensuring consistency, organization, and quality behind the bar
• Tending bar during service and leading by example
• Working directly with the Front of House Manager to build and maintain a high-level guest experience

Ideal Candidate:

• 
  Has experience in bartending and hospitality, preferably in a full-service or cocktail-focused environment
• Possesses strong cocktail knowledge, creativity, and attention to detail
• Is organized, dependable, and team-oriented
• Has experience with inventory systems, ordering, and cost control, or is eager to learn
• Thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Is passionate about service, hospitality, and craft cocktails

While bar management experience is preferred, we are equally interested in finding someone who shares the vision for the restaurant and is excited to grow with a new concept from the ground up. This position could be an excellent opportunity for a talented bartender or hospitality professional ready to take the next step in their career.
