Business Analyst - Senior

Job Title

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Division of Epidemiology's Bureau of Surveillance and Data Systems is charged to maintain and enhance the statewide Electronic Clinical Laboratory Reporting System (ECLRS), the Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System (CDESS), and the Electronic Syndromic Surveillance System (ESSS). These are mission critical electronic systems to effectively monitor and respond to over 75 reportable diseases and to other public health emergencies and inform statewide policy decisions. The candidates will support requirements development, user acceptance testing, and detailed system documentation.

Day-to-day tasks to be performed by the selected candidate:

• Communicate with business users regarding requirement specifications, testing, and answering questions.
• Complete all system and business documentation for CDESS/ECLRS projects
• Track and document project progress
• Develop user acceptance test plans
• Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing
• Assist with the development and maintenance of materials, documenting standard operating procedures of new tools and functionality in CDESS/ECLRS.
• Perform data analysis and generate reports to support data quality improvement activities
• Assist with the development of HL7 extract files
• Assist with monitoring issues related to data quality
