Job Description

• Responsibilities to the Inpatient Medicine Service under the guidance and direction of the Section Chief, Hospital medicine.
• Participating in, overseeing, and collaborating to ensure all applicable clinical functions are performed.
• Providing timely and courteous service to all veterans seeking care.
• Collaborating with other health care professionals and systems to ensure continuity of care of patients.
• Providing patient education.
• Performing bedside procedures as indicated by training/credentials as applicable.
• Participating in strategic planning for the service.
• Attending and providing input to the inpatient management and other committees and councils, as needed.
• Attending regularly scheduled Hospitalist section staff meetings and other clinical and administrative staff meetings.
• Promoting performance improvement measures within the Hospitalist Section.
• Supporting VHA and all Medicine Service directives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
