CAD Technician

Mechanical DrafterWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our hardware development team. In this role, you will create detailed technical drawings and 3D models for mechanical components and assemblies used in our robotic systems. You will sit at the interface of design and production, translating engineering concepts and specifications into precise, manufacturable documentation that guides our fabrication and assembly processes.Basic Qualifications2+ years of experience as a mechanical drafter or similar role in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in 3D CAD software for mechanical part and assembly modeling, Onshape experience strongly preferred.Strong working knowledge of GD&T principles and their practical applicationSolid understanding of mechanical tolerancing, fits (clearance, transition, interference), and surface finish specificationsFamiliarity with ASME Y14 series and/or ISO drawing standardsAbility to interpret engineering sketches and translate them into formal production drawingsUnderstanding of common manufacturing processes (CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, casting) and how they influence drawing requirementsStrong attention to detail and ability to produce error-free documentationPreferred QualificationsExperience with Onshape (cloud-based CAD platform)Exposure to electromechanical assemblies or robotic systemsExperience creating drawings for hand-built or low-volume production environmentsFamiliarity with revision control systems and engineering change order (ECO) processesUS Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
