Position SummaryEvans is seeking an Instructional Designer to build training programs that drive real capability across the organization. This role turns complex construction, operational, and leadership concepts into practical, digestible learning for. You’ll partner closely with leaders and subject matter experts to accelerate new‑hire readiness and develop structured training for project management, estimating, field operations, and leadership. The Senior Instructional Designer will also identify capability gaps and implement training solutions that improve performance, strengthen culture, and support Evans’ long‑term growth.Job ResponsibilitiesTraining Strategy and Program DevelopmentDesign and implement training programs that support business goals, operational excellence, and leadership developmentAssess organizational needs and identify gaps in technical, operational, and leadership capabilitiesBuild structured learning paths for key roles including project managers, estimators, superintendents, and emerging leadersDevelop scalable training frameworks that can grow with the businessAlign learning initiatives with company priorities, growth strategy, and project execution needsInstructional Design & Content DevelopmentDesign and develop training across multiple formats including instructor led, virtual, eLearning, and blended learningCreate high quality training materials such as participant guides, facilitator guides, job aids, playbooks, and process documentationTranslate complex construction processes, systems, and technical information into clear and practical learning contentApply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to drive engagement and retentionEstablish consistent standards, templates, and best practices for training contentTraining Delivery and FacilitationCoordinate training delivery/facilitation through in person sessions, virtual classrooms, and workshopsFacilitate engaging learning experiences that include real world scenarios, problem solving, and hands on applicationBuild credibility with both field and office teams through practical and relevant instructionLeadership Development and Organizational ImpactDesign and deliver leadership development programs for emerging leaders, managers, and senior leadersPartner with leadership to identify development needs, capability gaps, and succession prioritiesSupport initiatives that strengthen culture, improve engagement, and drive performanceContribute to broader talent development efforts including career pathing and role progressionSME Collaboration and Technical AlignmentWork closely with subject matter experts across areas including advanced technology, life sciences, manufacturing, MEP, food and beverage processing, and cold storage, etc.Extract and structure knowledge from technical experts into usable training contentEnsure all learning materials reflect real world execution and current business practicesContinuously update training based on process, system, and project changesEvaluation and Continuous ImprovementMeasure training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance outcomesUse data and field input to refine programs and improve learner experienceMaintain and evolve a centralized library of training materials and resourcesStay current on industry trends, learning technologies, and best practicesOther Requirements:4 or more years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, or organizational development Proven experience designing and delivering training programs across multiple formats Strong project management and coordination skillsAbility to influence, challenge, and hold managers accountableExcellent communication and facilitation skillsExperience working with subject matter experts in technical or operational environments Experience building leadership development programs and structured learning paths Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and training analyticsConstruction or engineering experience preferred
