Salary $39.59 - $49.45/hour; $6,862.27 - $8,571.33/month; $82,347.20 - $102,856.00/year Job Details Department: Sheriff Employment Type: Permanent/Full Time (40 hrs/week) Work Locations: Auburn, CA and surrounding areas; Roseville, CA and surrounding areas Positions: Correctional Officer - I (#2026-16330-01) and Correctional Officer - II (#2026-16331-01) Position Information One (1) year of experience in jail operation and inmate supervision at a level equivalent to the County's class of Correctional Officer I. Completion of twelfth grade, or G.E.D, supplemented by college level coursework in law enforcement or a related field. Must have completed entry level core training as required by Title 15 of the Corrections Standards Authority and the coursework required by State Penal Code Section 832. In addition to the base hourly rate listed above, individuals will receive a yearly uniform allowance of $1,165.00. Those assigned to work the night shift will receive a shift differential of 7.5%. Condition of Employment Prior to the date of hire, applicants must undergo a fingerprint test by the Department of Justice, pass a medical examination (which may include drug screening and possibly a psychological evaluation), sign a constitutional oath, and submit proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to remain and work in the U.S. For some positions, applicants may also be required to submit proof of age, undergo a background investigation (which may include a credit check, voice stress analysis and/or a polygraph), and/or be bonded. Additionally, positions in law enforcement classifications and those supporting law enforcement functions will be required to complete a conviction history questionnaire prior to or during the interview process. Applicants for positions with access to Medi‑Cal billing software or who are licensed providers must clear the Federal Exclusion List, credentialing, and social security verification. Failure to clear these requirements may result in an employment offer being withdrawn.
