Community Automotive Repair started in 1975. Our shop is locally owned and operated. We are adding to our team of highly trained professionals. As a Master Certified Technician you can expect to join a team of the very best technicians in the Greater Grand Rapids area. We offer a stable, secure, and safe working environment. What does a Customer Service Specialist do?
As a Customer Service Specialist at Community Automotive Repair, you will be the primary phone answerer, responsible for managing incoming calls and providing exceptional customer service. Your role will include assisting customers during the drop-off and pick-up of vehicle repairs, ensuring they have a seamless experience. You will book appointments and manage online customer interactions, maintaining efficient communication. Additionally, you will assist service advisors with their workload and customer care efforts, stepping in as a service advisor during staff absences like vacations or sick days.
Flexibility is key, as you may also work on special projects and help arrange vehicles in the parking lot, contributing to our commitment to excellent guest services and customer satisfaction. Your proactive approach will be essential in creating a welcoming environment for our valued clients.

To excel as a Customer Service Specialist at Community Automotive Repair, you must possess a high school diploma and a valid Michigan driver's license. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and general computer skills is essential, as you will be navigating various software and tools to assist customers effectively. A solid understanding of office equipment and a familiarity with a multi-line phone system will help you manage incoming calls smoothly. Strong typing skills, with the ability to type 50 words per minute, are necessary for efficient communication and documentation. Additionally, you should be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds to assist with various tasks around the shop.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will also be key in delivering top-notch guest services and customer support, helping create a positive experience for every client.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
