About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Float Pool Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have 2 years of Med-Surg Telemetry experience. Prior neuro experience preferred. Description: Hiring Process: Candidate will interview with the clinical team. No unit manager involvement. Candidates may be required to float throughout the assigned zone. Each zone covers a 60-mile radius from the city center. Travelers are responsible for obtaining housing within this radius. The requirement to float across the entire zone applies regardless of housing location. All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment. Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and may follow two formats: Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week with potential floating within that facility. Option B: Just-In-Time (JIT): Facility assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call. Nurse-patient ratios are based on acuity, with a typical ratio of 1:5-6. Designated charge nurses on each unit may take a patient assignment if necessary. There are nurse aids available on the unit. Available respiratory equipment includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc. The schedule is made by leadership for 6 weeks, and travelers are expected to be flexible. Floating to various specialties may include Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation. Nurses may be asked to float into ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and Med-Surg Telemetry. Cancellations may occur for up to 4 shifts during the assignment.
