Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk accurately pulls and processes shipping orders according to priority, assembles kits, closes job orders, and maintains organized inventory. This role supports smooth shipping and receiving operations while ensuring inventory is properly recorded, restocked, and stored in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Pull shipping orders based on established priorities and prepare them for shipment.
• Pull orders and assemble kits accurately according to specifications.
• Close job orders in the system and ensure all related documentation is complete and accurate.
• Put away stock in designated locations and maintain orderly storage areas.
• Restock inventory and record all transactions and adjustments in the inventory system.
• Perform inventory control tasks, including monitoring stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
• Support inventory management activities to ensure accurate counts and availability of materials.
• Handle shipping and receiving duties, including checking incoming materials and preparing outgoing shipments.
• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, as needed to move and organize inventory.
• Use RF scan guns to track, locate, and update inventory records.
• Perform regular cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and identify variances.
• Enter data accurately into computer systems and maintain detailed inventory and shipping records.
• Use Microsoft Office applications to complete daily tasks, update reports, and communicate information.
• Apply basic shop mathematics to verify quantities, measurements, and material requirements.
• Follow established safety, quality, and organizational procedures in all shipping and inventory activities.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 24 years of experience working with bulk inventory control.
• Experience in inventory control and inventory management.
• Experience in shipping and receiving operations.
• Material handling experience, including working with bulk materials.
• At least 6 months of forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to operate RF scan guns for inventory tracking.
• Proficiency in data entry and maintaining accurate records.
• Comfortable working on a computer and performing tasks in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to perform basic shop mathematics accurately.
• Ability to work effectively in a structured, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a machine manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
• Familiarity with cycle counting processes and inventory reconciliation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in shipping and inventory tasks.
• Organizational skills to maintain clean, orderly stock and work areas.
• Ability to follow established procedures and prioritize tasks based on shipping requirements.
• Comfort working with technology and scanning equipment in daily operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Canton, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
