Position Summary
The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and quality control activities within the automotive parts manufacturing process. This role ensures products meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in quality systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead QC inspectors and technicians on the production floor
- Ensure compliance with quality standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements
- Monitor production processes to maintain consistent product quality and minimize defects
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Review and approve inspection reports, test results, and quality documentation
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and policies
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues
- Lead internal quality audits and support external/customer audits
- Track and report key quality metrics (e.g., PPM, scrap rate, rework, customer complaints)
- Train, mentor, and evaluate QC staff performance
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment
- Support new product launches and ensure adherence to PPAP requirements
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred)
- 3–7 years of experience in quality control within automotive or manufacturing environments
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience required
- Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
- Experience with root cause problem-solving methods (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Proficiency in quality tools and inspection equipment (CMM, gauges, calipers, etc.)
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and quality management software
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
