Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction through direct, on‑site customer interface. Mentor control technicians, service technicians, and mechanical technicians on building automation activities. Properly complete required project and service documentation. Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Act as a trusted advisor, providing solutions and outcomes during service. How you will do it Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions that require extensive knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software. Consult with customers using data gathered and site assessments. Provide field proposals for retrofits, upgrades, or enhancements to existing equipment. Assist sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads. Manage assigned work to meet efficient execution and customer satisfaction. Report problems or changes to management immediately. Interface with branch manager, service manager, service project manager, or subcontractors to coordinate projects as required. Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. Assist with job layouts and bid proposals. Install and modify software and graphics. Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and keep customers informed on service provided, outstanding issues, and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and replacement. Promote the sale of add‑on work. Adhere to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards. Provide safety leadership and instruction to all control technicians in the branch. Offer safety awareness while working onsite with Johnson Controls subcontractors. Train customers in control systems operations, delivering manuals and documentation as required. Provide mentorship for certification of Controls Technicians and Service Technicians on complex building automation systems. Coach, support, and train the technical workforce on non‑complex, non‑critical equipment. Compile job documentation, such as certificates of completion, customer training forms, training certificates, and punch lists. Conduct extensive self‑study to improve and maintain technical proficiency in the company's product lines. Complete certifications as required by the company. Assist in the design and configuration of building control systems per contract documents. Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, and bill of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics as required. Assist in developing and testing software programs required to operate the system per project requirements. Compile and complete project as-built and close‑out documentation. Assist in coordinating and creating necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assignment. Assist in loading and commissioning of all system and network‑level controllers as required. Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades. Provide field change information to the project team for creation of as‑built drawings and software. Keep management and contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. Assist in performing site‑specific training for owner/operator on the total building control system. Participate in release meetings with project field team. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility operates efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. What we look for A dedicated member of a North America branch team willing to learn and be responsible for system troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services for this fast‑growing business. At least 2 years of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including buildings, chiller plants, and systems. Graduation from a vocational school program or an associate's degree in a technical field, or two years' experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems. Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment. Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites. Ability to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical people. Demonstrated effective writing skills and understanding of programs and software applications. Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate: $25–$39 (determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and market data). This position includes a competitive benefits package.
