HVAC Truck Based Mechanic Apprentice (union)

Responsibilities Provide the highest level of service to customers by troubleshooting and resolving HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. Act as a trusted advisor, recommending solutions and outcomes at the time of service, including upselling opportunities and providing quotes. Maintain communication with JCI, contractors, and customers regarding job progress and issues. Perform work under union training requirements and maintain safety on all job sites. Qualifications Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO. 1+ year of industry experience or experience servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry. Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques. Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other contacts ethically and professionally. Leadership skills to support activities of mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site. Self‑starter with ability to eventually work independently. Prioritization of safety in all forms. Valid driver’s license. Preferred: 1–2 years of trade school or college with a technical emphasis. Benefits and Compensation This is a Bargaining Unit Position. Pay Range: $21–$27 per hour, determined by the collective bargaining agreement. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
