Category Manager- Steel

Category Manager - Steel Work schedule: Monday–Thursday onsite, Fridays remote. Responsibilities Identify, engage and align with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality or other business partners) to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality. Partner with business unit Procurement teams to efficiently transition suppliers as needed; support region/sector New Product Development (NPD) Procurement teams through preferred supplier programs. Develop and execute detailed category strategy, expanding the Preferred Supplier Program and segmentation based on business needs and effective procurement principles. Manage contract lifecycle and compliance, ensuring supply continuity and delivering best total value through RFx activities to execute supplier selection and negotiation. Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality and compliance. Deliver category productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects. Oversee Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and conduct regular supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within category to meet program Quality/Cost/Delivery targets. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field. 5+ years of procurement / sourcing experience with large-scale, complex, and/or regional/global categories of spend. Demonstrated success in assessing, negotiating and managing vendors. Collaborative, facilitation, consultation and conflict resolution skills; ability to collaborate and influence within a highly matrixed environment. Professional communication; both verbal and written are required. Compensation Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $97,406.66 - $156,200.00 Compensation Type: Salary.
