What You’ll Do This position provides case management for the YWCA Permanent Supportive Housing program at the East Denny Building. The Resident Life Coach delivers structured, goal‑oriented casework for single adults and small families in the Permanent Supportive Housing program, while applying antiracist principles and addressing how external systems impact clients through the lenses of racism and poverty. Expectations of Your Role Verify participants and document program eligibility, completing program application materials. Maintain compliance with lease and case notes on a daily and/or weekly basis. Network with other service providers to advocate for clients and establish suitable referral systems. Maintain client files and appropriate records to document participant progress. Participate in agency, department and committee meetings to maintain integrated services for clients. Participate in department projects developed by the Director of Housing and Regional Directory to improve client service and efficiency. Attend trainings as directed to increase knowledge and skill. Provide advocacy and coaching to facilitate positive and productive landlord/tenant relationships. Provide clients with trauma‑informed support, case management, and advocacy; make referrals and linkages to community resources for housing, employment, and other basic needs. Must Have's to be Successful Bachelor’s Degree in a social services related field with at least three years of case management experience working with low‑income, homeless, and chronically homeless households. Prefer chemical‑dependency and/or mental‑health background. Other Pathways AA Degree in a social services related field with at least five years of case management experience working with low‑income homeless and chronically homeless households. Any combination of skills and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform this job effectively. And Understanding of issues around homelessness, poverty and trauma, especially as they affect specific populations, including but not limited to veterans, families, the elderly & disabled, people who live with chronic mental illness, youth, LGBTQI people, immigrants & refugees, and people of color. Knowledge of and experience as a service provider with any of the following: crisis intervention, victims of domestic violence, child abuse, substance abuse, mental health, welfare rights, case management, sexual assault, employment services, child development, and positive parenting skills. Core competencies: attention to detail, oral and written communication, organizing/time management, initiative, collaboration, ethics, and integrity. Experience working with communities of color and people from different cultures than your own. Demonstrated commitment to anti‑racist principles and the intersection of racism and poverty. Hours, Rate, and Benefits Hourly Rate: $28.00 Hours: 40 hours per week Excellent benefits package including medical insurance, retirement plan, and generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave plans. Upon hire, employees may enroll voluntarily in the Fidelity 403(b) Plan. After two years of employment, employees are eligible to participate in the YWCA Retirement Fund. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Continuously exchange information through listening and talking with clients, agency staff, employers, representatives of community organizations and other individuals in the community. Frequently stand, walk, sit and climb in performing duties in the workspace and in the community. Frequently reach and grasp while using telephones, computers, fax machines and other office equipment and supplies. All positions are exposed to clients who have experienced or are experiencing trauma, increasing the risk of secondary trauma. Employees are encouraged to seek external support and maintain self‑care when working directly or indirectly with clients. Mental Health Considerations All employees interact with clients who have experienced or are experiencing trauma in various forms, including racial trauma, domestic violence, sexual violence, homelessness, unemployment, and financial hardship. Employees are at risk of secondary trauma and are encouraged to seek support inside and outside the workplace and maintain self‑care routines.
