Finance Associate

LHH has partnered with a leading investment firm with a long track record of backing top-tier venture capital and growth equity managers that is adding an Associate to its finance and operations team. This role offers broad exposure across fund accounting, investor reporting, and portfolio operations within a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial environment. You will work directly with senior leadership and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the platform, while gaining insight into fund performance, manager relationships, and investor activity. Responsibilities Support the ongoing management of fund financial operations, including expense allocations, capital activity, and coordination with third‑party administrators Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly reporting for various investment vehicles, including co‑investments and commingled funds Participate in cash management activities, including tracking balances, initiating payments, and supporting liquidity planning Coordinate capital call and distribution processes, including reconciliation and documentation across internal and external stakeholders Serve as a point of contact for investor‑related requests, helping to address inquiries and support ongoing communication with limited partners Maintain and update investor‑facing systems and data platforms, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of reporting materials Partner with investment and operations teams to collect and organize underlying manager reporting and financial data Assist with audit, tax, and regulatory reporting processes in coordination with external service providers Identify opportunities to improve workflows, enhance data integrity, and streamline recurring processes across the finance function Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or related discipline 2-6 years of experience in: fund accounting, fund administration, investment management / allocator environment, or public accounting with financial services / alternative investments exposure Understanding of private fund mechanics, including capital calls, distributions, and fund structures Advanced Excel skills and overall comfort working with financial data Detail‑oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong communication skills and ability to work across internal teams and external stakeholders Interest in venture capital, growth equity, and emerging technology sectors Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and financial platforms is a plus Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance This posting is a representative sample of the types of roles we typically place with our clients.
