IT Analyst/Programmer - 2

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring an IT Analyst/Programmer - 2. The role involves performing SQL-based programming to extract and develop patient datasets from the clinical data warehouse, collaborating with researchers to align programming with project goals, and developing ETL and data integration processes following regulatory policies to support clinical data-driven research in the Department of Radiology. Highlights Perform SQL programming to identify patient cohorts and develop datasets. Collaborate with researchers to ensure programming meets project requirements. Develop ETL and data integration supporting common data models like OMOP and PCORnet using SQL, Python, or R. Adhere to UNC regulatory and governance policies for data integrity and security. Support IRB-approved projects by retrieving data for Radiology faculty. Require expert knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL. Preferred skills include SAS, R, Python, Java, and familiarity with HIPAA, Institutional Review Board regulations, and clinical data standards (Epic Clarity, OMOP, PCORnet, i2b2, FHIR). Experience in academic research environments and software development best practices (QA testing, Git, SDLC) is advantageous. Minimum education: Master’s with 1–2 years experience or Bachelor’s with 2–4 years; combinations accepted.
