Project Engineer

Essential Functions

1. Project Administration & Document Control

• Maintained drawing logs, specifications, and design bulletins so both field and office teams operate off up to date documentation.
• Process technical submittals, mix designs, shop drawings, and material approvals with high urgency with accuracy.
• Prepare project meeting agendas, document actionable meeting minutes, and track open issues across project teams, owners, and engineers.

1. Procurement & Supply Chain

• Manage the drafting of subcontracts and material purchase orders, ensuring timely procurement for both bulk commodities and specialized project items.
• Track material fabrication and delivery schedules to prevent field delays.
• Review project specific specs and materials

1. Financial Management & Change Control

• Assist PMs in tracking cost reports, analyzing budget variances, and maintaining project profitability.
• Document scope changes, price variations, and unexpected field conditions to support formal change orders.
• Compile monthly pay applications by verifying field quantities against the schedule of values, assisting with AR and collections as needed.

1. Quality Control & Project Closeout

• Support field operations in maintaining quality assurance procedures and scope compliance.
• Oversee the complete project closeout workflow, including punch list items, final change order reconciliations, and retainage release.
• Assemble final turnover packages containing as-built drawings, warranties, O&M manuals, rail compliance records, and decorative concrete care guides.

Experience & Education

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business strongly preferred, or relevant experience to offset education.
• Proficiency in construction and project management software, Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite Required

Physical Demands

• Ability to regularly attend work in an office environment
• Ability to spend prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to safely navigate active job sites around heavy equipment and in varying weather conditions

Other Requirements

• Full time hours required; most work will be performed on weekdays during normal business hours. Hours may fluctuate based on project necessity
• Occasional travel to job sites within city limits
