Step Down Unit Nurse, Nights — The organization is seeking a qualified Step Down Nurse for a night shift position. The role involves providing high-acuity patient care on a step-down unit, with a focus on titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, and managing complex clinical procedures. The position requires a dedicated professional with at least 2 years of experience in a similar setting.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience, ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS certifications, and valid licensing in the relevant state(s).
• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Managing vasopressors, sedation medications, arterial lines, cardiac arrhythmias, chest tubes, and tracheostomy vented patients. Troubleshooting vents and alarms, administering blood products, and providing expert care to high-acuity patients in a step-down environment.
• Additional Information: The role involves open to float within scope, covering floors with lower acuity, and requires proficiency in special procedures and equipment such as Bipap, Opti flow, and arterial lines. Candidates must have been bedside within the last 6 months and be prepared to work a schedule that includes every other weekend coverage.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required at the time of start. Labs and modules are required prior to start, with ACLS required by deadline for some locations.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must have valid state licenses (MO or IL), with no local candidates accepted within 75 miles radius. The candidate must meet all compliance deadlines and adhere to contract policies, including non-cancellation after signing.
