About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: MO license or compact required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS Must-Have: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Telemetry monitoring Management and titration of cardiac drips Chest tube management Description: This role is in a dual-unit PCU/Stepdown setting. Nurse-to-patient ratios in the PCU are 2-3, while on the floor it's usually 4, but can be 5 at times. All nurses may be required to work on either side. The patient population includes those undergoing lung transplant, lung surgeries, lobectomy, mass removal, wedge resection, esophagectomy, and hiatal hernia repair. Special procedures may involve chest tubes, G/J tubes, and tube feeding. Interdisciplinary support is provided by IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and others. Candidates should have experience with dysrhythmias, telemetry, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and pre/post cardiac surgery. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Travelers are expected to float within the service line. No local candidates accepted within a specified radius. No new RTO after submission. All candidates must complete labs within 48-72 hours of signing. Module training is required pre-start. This position does not require on-call duty.
