Transmission Line Associate Civil Engineer

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transmission Line Associate Civil Engineer for our Sunrise, FL office. This OpportunityPrepare and review engineering deliverables in support of overhead transmission line projects:PLS-CADD modelPLS-POLE modelsProject design criteriaSteel pole loading calculations and drawingsEngineering drawings and specificationsFoundation designs and drawingsBill of materials Coordinate regularly with the Project Engineer to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are metYour ImpactProvide mentorship and guidance to others. Perform detailed engineering reviews of the work submitted by othersCoordinate regularly with the Project Engineer to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are metExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.Who You AreRequired Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to communicate effectively with internal team members and external client personnelExperience using the Microsoft Office software suiteProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Preferred Qualifications Engineer in Training (EIT) registration Experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, conductor, OHGW and OPGW selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, foundation design and analysis, procurement specification development and development of construction bid packagesPLS-CADD / PLS-POLE experienceFoundation design experience using industry software (RISA, L-PILE, FAD etc.)Two (2) or more years' experience in transmission line design as outlined aboveProfessional Engineering license (PE) strongly preferredMaster’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering a plusDistribution/underbuild design experience is a plusManagerial and leadership skills a plusAdditional Required Qualifications:Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.Due to contractual requirements, U.S. citizenship is required for this position.About WSPWSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
