Industrial Maintenance Technician

This role is responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair, and maintain all plant equipment in safe and reliable operating condition. You will diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues quickly and accurately, while controlling associated costs and supporting the plant's production and reliability goals.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance and project assignments with minimal guidance, demonstrating a proactive approach to equipment design, installation, and improvement.
• Troubleshoot mechanical devices in operation, dismantle and examine equipment to access and remove defective parts, and adjust functional components and control instruments to restore proper operation.
• Repair or replace defective mechanical parts and ensure equipment returns to service safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and repair input/output devices using PLC systems, ensuring accurate diagnosis and timely resolution of control-related issues.
• Design, upgrade, install, and troubleshoot electrical equipment, circuits, and systems to support plant operations and equipment modifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair or replace electrical components down to the component level to restore equipment functionality.
• Set up and operate shop machinery such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, cutting torches, and welders to fabricate, modify, or repair parts and equipment.
• Use hand tools and pneumatic tools to perform precise repairs and modifications on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Install, repair, and modify hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed to support production and maintenance requirements.
• Improve reliability and uptime of all equipment by taking a preventive maintenance approach and addressing issues before they cause downtime.
• Operate the cooling water and wastewater systems in compliance with applicable EPA regulations and company procedures.
• Operate forklifts and hydraulic working platforms as needed to safely access equipment and perform maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance activities, to support continuous improvement and compliance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in industrial operations environments with exposure to both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience in maintenance, mechanical, or electrical roles with emphasis on troubleshooting and repair.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and reliability-focused maintenance practices.
• Comfort working with a variety of shop and field tools, including welding equipment and cutting tools.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with production and maintenance teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining equipment in optimal operating condition.

Job Type & Location: This is a permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
