Responsibilities Inventory Management & Organization; create and maintain a comprehensive real‑time inventory system for all materials and products across both the Hayward and Fairfield warehouse locations. Establish and uphold minimum on‑hand supply thresholds; proactively identify and address shortages before they impact operations. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual physical inventory counts and audits; reconcile discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Develop and maintain organized, clearly labelled, efficient storage systems for quick and accurate material retrieval. Maintain consistent organization standards across both locations. Manage product discarding processes in accordance with company policies. Manage sample and display inventory, track condition, quantity, and replenishment needs. Source, negotiate, and maintain vendor relationships; procure high‑quality materials at competitive prices. Evaluate and qualify new vendors; benchmark market for cost savings and quality improvements. Process and manage purchase orders; ensure timely delivery and proper documentation. Oversee receiving and verification of shipments; resolve discrepancies and quality issues. Handle return merchandise authorisation and vendor return processes. Leverage construction and building material procurement expertise for specialty items. Resolve vendor issues including delivery, quality, and billing disputes. Collaborate with Senior Warehouse and Logistics Manager and other internal teams. Understand current and forecasted material needs; identify consumption trends and seasonal patterns. Serve as operational link between warehouse and stakeholders. Support all supply categories including installation hardware, service parts, tools, sample windows and doors, marketing collateral, general consumables. Provide inventory reporting and cost analysis; surface trends, risks and opportunities. Assist in developing SOPs for procurement and inventory management. Track and monitor procurement spend; flag budget variances. Recommend inventory management tools and process improvements. Participate in day‑to‑day warehouse operations; support team. Travel between Hayward and Fairfield warehouses. Support facility maintenance and safety initiatives. Assist in developing procedures for handling, storage and disposal of materials in compliance with safety regulations. Qualifications High‑school diploma or GED; no college degree required. 3+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain or procurement. Experience in construction, building materials or related product procurement is required. Warehousing and/or distribution experience strongly preferred. Strong negotiation and vendor relationship skills. Proficiency with inventory management systems; ERP or WMS experience a plus. Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making skills. Excellent organisational and attention‑to‑detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Willing to travel regularly between Hayward and Fairfield; reliable personal transportation and valid driver’s licence required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); intermediate to advanced Excel preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, standing. Individual contributor with no direct reports. Regular, predictable, on‑site attendance required. Basic computer applications and internal systems used for scheduling, reporting and communication. Licensed California driver with reliable vehicle. Compensation & Benefits Competitive starting compensation of $80 k–$85 k annually plus bonus after training. 401(k) with company match.
