Staff Accountant

Position Summary The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of financial activity related to Howdy Homemade Ice Cream. This position supports the day-to-day accounting functions and plays a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Record and manage daily sales activity for Howdy Homemade Ice Cream in the accounting system Review and track sales and use tax data for quarterly filings Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly invoices Perform reconciliations of ledgers and external financial accounts Support the month-end close process and assist with financial reporting Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable balances Coordinate with the store manager on inventory tracking and store-related expenses Maintain and update lease records and lease-related accounting entries Provide support on special projects and during audits or financial reviews as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a retail or multi-entity environment Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel Experience using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude Why Join Us?
