Clinical Research Coordinator

Job Summary This position provides research support to the UC Davis Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC), specifically participating in multiple studies that examine life course factors influencing brain health and cognitive decline. The role includes performing clinical evaluations, administering specialized research assessments of cognitive and independent function of older adults, and collecting data primarily in participants’ homes throughout the Sacramento and Bay Areas. Responsibilities also involve recording results, mandatory data entry, and presenting findings to a research team. The incumbent must be sensitive to the physical and psychological needs of elderly participants. Key Responsibilities 90% – Research in specialized areas (data collection, study participation, and presentations) 5% – University service activities 5% – Professional competence and activity Minimum Qualifications Valid California driver’s license. Experience working in a research setting. Ability to review medical records related to cognitive decline or dementia. Experience entering data and documenting patient assessments in electronic medical record systems. Experience consenting subjects to research studies. Knowledge of standard physical and neurological examinations. Understanding of disease processes and capability to organize and summarize data for clinical research. Proficiency with scientific and medical terminology. Data management experience. Knowledge of university policies related to research, human subjects, and clinical trials. Ability to analyze and interpret complex policies, protocols, and reports. Proficiency with Microsoft Word or WordPerfect, spreadsheets, and database software. Independent work ability with a teamwork attitude. Excellent oral and written communication skills, tact, and diplomacy. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Ability to design and maintain an efficient filing and record‑keeping system. Capability to handle PHI and HIPAA confidential material. Excellent English grammar, punctuation, and editing skills. Excellent typing skills for error‑free correspondence. Preferred Qualifications State Phlebotomy Certification. Completion of a U.S. accredited medical training program or a graduate of a medical school listed in the IMED. Spanish language proficiency. Experience using dictation equipment, printers, copiers, and fax machines. Skill in reviewing laboratory test results or consultation reports for errors, omissions, or inconsistencies.
