Summary: The Welder lays out, fits, and fabricates metal components to assemble structural forms, using knowledge of welding techniques, and engineering requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine welding requirements and specifications. Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes. Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, hand tools, and plasma cutting. Inspect welds for accuracy and quality, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and ensure 5s safety. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress, issues, and requirements Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Performs other related duties as directed. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Minimum Qualifications: Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States. Completion of a high school diploma and/or GED. Welding Certification or relevant experience required. Ability to perform MIG welds are required - Must be able to pass a test. Preferred Qualifications: 3G Welding is a plus 5 years of Stick and MIG welding experience Travel Requirements: None Physical Requirements Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material (70lbs) or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
