The Business Strategy role functions as a very high-visibility leader in the Information Solutions (IS) & Supplier Services (SS) business, and team. The role will work across major US and global functions to lead the development, maintenance, delivery, and execution of new and current business strategies (from data supply to the delivery of information solutions to clients).

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Professionally manage a pivotal role as a member of the Leadership Team, working with the General Manager on the primary responsibility for guiding and delivering the strategic direction of the business. In this capacity, the role is instrumental to shape current and future:
  • Short & Long-Term Strategic Data Strategies (investments, offering, delivery, and Data Supply Partner support)
  • Short & Long-Term Information Solution Planning (investments, offering, delivery, marketing, sales, operations, and Customer support
  • Lead definition and prioritization; professionally compile and deliver; present and achieve approval; and maintain on an ongoing basis the Business Strategy Document
  • Help the Business achieve in-year and multi-year revenue objectives
  • Help to drive Business transformation and organizational growth
• Serve as strategic advisor to the General Manager, including strategic planning and decision-making that is informed by the Business Strategy Document
• Serve as strategic advisor to the Leadership Team, including strategic planning and decision-making; strategic execution (to help ensure on time, high quality delivery of investments); and mentoring
• Serve as a strategic advisor on the compilation of Business and Offering internal and external positioning, including the Unique Value Proposition (UVP), Storytelling, and benefits to Customers that improves Customer engagement and satisfaction; increases sales team win rates; and grows Business revenue
• Engage and drive successful senior level Customer & Data Supply Partner engagement
• Support the achievement of defined Business operational milestones, including:
  • Advise and collaborate with the Leadership Team and other applicable IQVIA US Go-To-Market (Sales, Marketing, Operations) leaders to coordinate key decision making and achieve in-year and multi-year Business milestones (as defined by the Business Strategy Document).
  • Help ensure key members of the Leadership Team are aligned and focused on achieving in-year objectives (as required by the Business Strategy Document).
  • Collaboration with the General Manager and Chief of Staff to deliver content in support of business- reviews (BRs), operational reviews (ORs), annual technology investments, annual long-term strategy (LTS) planning, and senior management updates as per IQVIA’s established cadence

Essential Deliverables associated with the Role:

• Leadership Team:
  • Participate in LT meetings, as defined by the General Manager and Chief of Staff
• Business Strategy , as an individual contributor:
  • Role 1 : Lead the definition and prioritization; professionally compile and deliver; present and achieve approval; and maintain on an ongoing basis the Business Strategy Document
    • Monitor, track, and report progress quarterly on the Business Strategy Document; deliver updates on key industry, market and participant insights; and identify risk and recommend actions to mitigate and help the Business engage customers on time, with quality
    • Identify and recommend KPIs, representative of the plan as documented in the Business Strategy Document, and report on them quarterly to the General Manager
  • Role 2 : Professionally communicate the essential and relevant elements of the Business strategy and Offering to Customers (in Customer Segments) and Data Supply Partners, including:
    • For Customers:
      • GTM Design : includes supporting the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of the Offering to enable Business success
      • Messaging : includes Unique Value Proposition (UVP) & Storytelling delivered professionally through PowerPoint
      • Sales : includes recommending and enabling leaders on how best to engage
      • Marketing : includes recommending and enabling leaders on how best to communicate
    • For Data Supply Partners:
      • Supply Design : includes leading the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of data partners to enable Business success
      • Messaging : includes Unique Value Proposition (UVP) & Storytelling delivered professionally through PowerPoint
      • Sales : includes recommending and enabling leaders on how best to engage
      • Marketing : includes recommending and enabling leaders on how best to communicate
  • Role 3 : To inform and participate in key decisions on the Offering strategy, including:
    • Needs Definition : includes a Customer-driven prioritization of enhancements to the offering
    • Investment Definition : includes participation in deciding investments for the offering
  • Role 4: To participate in key strategic investments evaluations, recommendations, and implementations, including accelerated investments, such as M&A

• Strategic Customer & Data Supply Partner Engagement :
  • Role 1 : To expertly prepare and engage senior leaders / decision makers
  • Role 2 : To expertly support a team of professionals responsible for the expert preparation and engagement to senior leaders / decision makers
  • Role 3 : To expertly support IQVIA senior leaders in their engagement of senior leaders / decision makers
  • Role 4 : When required, to expertly participate and support the IQVIA team in response to RFPs, master contract renewals, and related events
• Thought Leadership :
  • Role 1 : To help set direction, assist and review, and help thought leadership and marketing to:
    • Deliver quarterly Thought Leadership plan for upcoming fiscal year
    • Support delivery of Thought Leadership tactics and events on time with quality
  • Role 2 : To personally review and approve every Thought Leadership communication planned to be delivered externally, in any channel

Qualifications :

• Advanced degree in Business or Product Management or a minimum of 15-years relevant experience
• A minimum of 15 years in the life sciences industry, with direct business strategy, business management, portfolio or product strategy or general management experience
• A minimum of 3 years in a consulting or advisory role (either as lead or on a team), in US and / or global healthcare, is a plus
• Direct experience with key stakeholder management (in primary operating segments defined above) is a plus
• Equal proficiency as a self-starter, and team contributor, partnering effectively on cross-functional projects or teams
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
• Outstanding communication skills, including proficiency in writing, PPT development and delivery, and verbal
• Excellent problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline metrics
• Strong team leadership skills, including a passion for team culture and development
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills
• Very strong software and computer skills, including MS Office applications

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $134,600.00 - $374,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
