Financial Cost Manager

As the Financial Cost Manager for Ryan Homes, an NVR brand, you will provide the homebuilding division with financial and operational expertise. You will directly support the Division Manager in establishing, controlling and analyzing homebuilding construction costs and divisional profitability. Working with the Production Manager and their team, you are responsible for managing a comprehensive cost control system to ensure that each home is built within budget and recommend process improvements. If you are excited by an opportunity to expand responsibilities and have a path to broader regional or corporate financial analysis and management positions, we want to talk to you!Primary ResponsibilitiesSupport the Division Manager in analyzing and controlling construction costs and maximizing profits for all homes within the DivisionManage a cost control system that effectively and accurately measures costs and production variances and allows for accurate projections of operating resultsWork with divisional, regional and corporate peers to drive continuous improvement of costs, profitability, processes, and systems, and ensure consistency of costing methods across the companyInitiate agreements and negotiations with sub-contractors that will maximize value, quality and delivery to NVR and the home buyerUpdate and maintain sales pricing and cost information for all active and future communitiesProject costs for new home designs and product offerings as part of the overall Division business planReview plans for standardization of components, options, and construction methodsQualifications5+ years of experience of comparable financial analysis, costing, planning, or economic analysis with demonstrated attention to detailAble to convert financial analysis into meaningful operational recommendations and drive action and process improvementSkilled in budgeting and negotiatingExceptional problem analysis and problem solving skillsOutstanding written and oral communications skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level is essentialBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance requiredRelevant costing and analysis experience is desiredEmployment with a large manufacturing or real estate company preferredExperience with new home or commercial construction preferredMBA preferredLife at NVRAs the parent company of Ryan Homes, NVHomes and Heartland Homes, NVR is a Top 5 US homebuilder and Fortune 500 company that has been helping families build their happily ever after since 1948. Individual pay is determined by factors including the candidate’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, and location.
