Job Description

The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance function within a high-volume manufacturing environment, ensuring equipment and systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance activities, developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, improving equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance department and provide direction and support to maintenance personnel.
• Oversee daily maintenance activities across the manufacturing floor.
• Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Plan and prioritize maintenance work based on production and operational needs.
• Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of equipment and process issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for recurring equipment problems.
• Manage maintenance schedules, resources, spare parts, and related costs.
• Support planned shutdowns, equipment installations, upgrades, and capital projects.
• Utilize CMMS/EAM systems to manage work orders, maintenance history, and equipment information.
• Track maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable safety and environmental requirements.
• Partner closely with production, engineering, operations, and other departments.
• Develop maintenance processes and help strengthen the overall maintenance organization.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, reliability, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

• 710 years of progressive industrial maintenance or reliability experience.
• 35 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience leading maintenance teams within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and work-order management.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Experience improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
• Experience supporting shutdowns, equipment upgrades, and capital projects.
• Hands-on experience with CMMS, EAM, or similar maintenance management systems.
• Strong safety orientation and experience working within established industrial safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-development skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in high-volume, heavy-industrial, or process manufacturing.
• Experience developing or improving maintenance programs and processes.
• Equipment installation or commissioning experience.
• Experience with reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with maintenance KPIs and performance metrics.
• Experience managing spare parts, maintenance inventory, and outside vendors.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across maintenance, engineering, operations, and production teams.

Work Environment

This position operates within a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment and includes regular interaction with production equipment and employees on the manufacturing floor. The Maintenance Manager will divide time between leadership and administrative responsibilities and hands-on involvement with maintenance activities throughout the facility.

The position may require occasional work outside normal hours or on weekends based on production and maintenance needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saranac, MI.

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saranac, MI.

This position is anticipated to close on Nov 6, 2026.
