About The Role The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects, typically involving the development and implementation of business processes to meet identified business needs. The role includes acquiring and utilizing necessary resources and skills, maintaining agreed cost, timescale and quality parameters, managing resources, budget and stakeholder expectations, and ensuring effective project control, risk management and testing processes. The manager takes full responsibility for defining, documenting and achieving successful completion of complex projects with significant business, political or high‑profile impact and high‑risk dependencies. Core Responsibilities Leadership Reflect on project direction and recommend feasible improvements, taking lessons learned and current trends into account. Influence key stakeholders to agree in‑flight changes to the project approach where necessary, using best practices and Atos standards. Lead medium‑size project teams (up to 20 staff) across multiple sites and disciplines, acting as prime contractor to sub‑contractors and delivering mature technology or solutions that may extend beyond the manager’s domain expertise. Encourage a sense of belonging and value for all team members, actively coaching to understand strengths, weaknesses, interests and ambitions, and create a supportive team spirit. Seek and act on feedback for personal development, recognising strengths and weaknesses and reflecting on personal behaviour. Present a clear, realistic vision of achievable goals, pursuing them with energy and enthusiasm for new ideas and encouraging active participation. Project Organisation Plan and control projects with internal and external dependencies, re‑plan and baseline to maintain expected outcomes while managing scope and milestone changes. Provide accruals and cost tracking, with evidence of corrective actions to minimise adverse variances to budget. Manage risks, issues and assumptions for medium‑complexity, multi‑stream projects involving technologies and resources (including third parties) outside of the core domain; quantify commercial and activity‑based risks. Leverage Atos tools and processes while reconciling costs. Ensure seamless handover of accepted project outputs to the client or standing Atos organisation, including service acceptance. Delivery Management Confirm project requirements and scope with stakeholders. Assimilate and apply multiple standards, agree a common approach with key stakeholders to maintain effectiveness while meeting standards, keep configuration changes controlled throughout the lifecycle, and propose process improvements from project measures and information. Relationship Management Proactively seek customer feedback, evaluate decisions from the customer’s point of view, and exceed expectations. Maintain consistent communication and confidentiality, offer advice and solutions, recognise potential conflicts and lead resolution. Facilitate discussion and compromise to achieve agreed decisions, taking ownership and ensuring all team members can contribute. Communicate complex information effectively to varied audiences, command attention, manage large groups (e.g., during presentations) and engage the stakeholder community. Commercial Drive Understand how actions affect cost and profitability, identify and address delivery threats, and collaborate across Atos to improve integrated service offerings and delivery. Manage overall change control—documentation, impact analysis (cost, margin, schedule, risk, quality, staffing), approval by the Change Control Board, and project plan updates/coordination—and negotiate with stakeholders to agree changes. Lead medium‑complexity projects concerning revenue, margin, team size, geography, subcontractor terms, risk profile and diverse technologies. Meet contractual and Atos standards, liaise with the Account Manager to maintain client relationships, resolve disputes early, and negotiate to balance client relationships with Atos commercial objectives. Skillset And Experience Project Organisation Plan and control projects with external dependencies, re‑plan and baseline to achieve expected outcomes and manage scope and milestone changes. Use documented time‑bound actions and outcomes to manage risks, issues and changes. Leverage tools and processes in multi‑project environments, reconciling multiple cost and revenue streams. Engage stakeholders and combine defined tools/processes to minimise duplication and maintain effectiveness. Adapt to changing circumstances, adopting different roles where appropriate to fit new customer environments and experiment with new approaches. Delivery Management Adapt planning and approach to achieve business benefits; identify quick wins and prioritise/plans accordingly. Define project requirements and scope with stakeholders, suggest suitable definitions and acceptance measures to eliminate ambiguity, and negotiate to maximise commercial value while delivering client outcomes. Commercial Drive Understand the financial impact of actions, identify threats, and engage to improve integrated service offerings. Manage overall change control—document, analyse impact (cost, risk, quality, staffing), obtain approval and update the project plan; negotiate user‑stakeholder agreement on changes. Qualifications Successful experience as a Project Manager or proven prior project experience leading small to medium projects. Previous AWS Migration experience. Fully mobile regarding assignment location. Proven record of realistic estimation, financial and cost awareness, and customer‑facing behavioural skills for medium‑size projects. Experience managing projects valued at £1 M – £2 M. At least one external Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2). Eligible to obtain and maintain SC clearance.
