Estimator - Plumbing

MSS Solutions, LLC has an opening for an Estimator – Plumbing who will contribute fresh ideas and expertise to our growing team. Role and Responsibilities Involved throughout estimating, bidding, vendor and subcontractor proposal review and purchasing processes. Develop detailed quantity take-offs. Create bid packages and contract scopes of work for subcontractors, evaluate bids and issue contracts. Collect project data and compare to the office’s capabilities. Perform new equipment takeoffs. Assist Managers and Project Managers with technical support. Perform construction plan review or other requirements as determined by project needs and constraints. Provide knowledge and consultation in developing facility-related solutions for the customer’s problems. Develop, evaluate, and discuss possible solutions with Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and/or customer. Coordinate selection, pricing, and integrate equipment, controls, and services for each project. Prepare, finalize, and review preliminary and/or final proposal/submittal and submit. Assist Manager in determining proposal price and selling strategy. Resolve major deviations from scope with team after Project Scope Validation. Assist Manager in developing project fulfillment schedule with project team. Prepare and review contract terms and conditions using standard contract templates when applicable. Work with team members to solicit proper expertise in order to meet customer needs. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum of 5 years experience (10 years preferred) in the plumbing industry and at least 3 years of estimating experience. Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, construction plans, and specifications. Ability to understand plumbing principles, concepts, and perform calculations. Strong work ethic. Proficient with all Microsoft Office products. Regular and supervisory probation period required, if applicable. Random drug testing required. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs occasionally, 5-10 lbs frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.
