Manager - Hematology Department

Job Summary: Lead and supervise a hematology laboratory team to deliver high-quality, compliant, and efficient testing operations. This role drives day-to-day execution, supports staff development, advances process improvement, and ensures adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. What You'll Be Doing: Supervise daily laboratory operations and guide the team to meet workload, quality, and turnaround expectations Set priorities, assign work, and monitor operational delivery across assigned laboratory work groups Support hiring, training, coaching, and performance management under the mentorship of management Oversee inventory, resource planning, and budget-aligned use of reagents and laboratory supplies Drive safety, quality, and compliance practices, including timely resolution of CAPA and quality incidents Partner with stakeholders to lead process improvement initiatives, evaluate vendor platforms, and strengthen laboratory performance metrics What We Are Looking For: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Typically requires >5 years in regulated environment; >4 years of experience in a relevant discipline laboratory In depth knowledge of clinical testing procedures and applicable laboratory testing regulations Working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles, root cause analysis, and company-specific program requirements Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role: Demonstrated ability to train and mentor others while navigating operational and people-related challenges Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and competing demands Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, clients, and stakeholders Strong understanding of laboratory operations, study setup, cross-functional dependencies, and occupational safety requirements Applicable certifications and licenses as required by local regulations; Clinical Lab Scientist license preferred What We Offer You: We put our employees at the center of everything we do and are committed to providing them, and their families, with benefits that meet their diverse and changing needs. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
