Chief Advancement Officer

Exclusive search managed by Strategic Talent Management The Montgomery County SPCA is seeking an experienced, strategic, and relationship-driven Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to lead the organization’s philanthropy, community engagement, marketing, and communications efforts. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the senior leadership team, the CAO will lead a comprehensive advancement strategy designed to grow philanthropic support, deepen community and corporate relationships, strengthen the organization’s visibility and credibility, and build the resources needed for its next chapter of growth. What You'll Do Lead a comprehensive advancement strategy encompassing major gifts, planned giving, grants, annual giving, and capital campaigns. Cultivate strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, community leaders, and other key stakeholders. Manage and develop the Development, Community Events, Public Relations, Marketing, and administrative support teams. Oversee community engagement initiatives, including corporate partnerships, festivals, humane education, and special events. Guide marketing, communications, and public relations efforts to strengthen MCSPCA’s visibility and community presence. Partner closely with the CEO, senior leadership, and Board of Directors to align advancement priorities with the organization’s mission and strategic goals and build support for key initiatives. What You Bring 7-10+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, advancement, development, or a related leadership role, preferably within a nonprofit organization. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the presence and credibility to engage donors, corporate partners, community leaders, board members, and other stakeholders. Proven success leading and developing teams, setting clear priorities, and creating accountability for results. A strategic, business-minded approach and the ability to connect fundraising, marketing, communications, and community engagement to broader organizational goals. The Montgomery County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a nonprofit organization established in 1909 to provide protection and safety to animals in need. Today, the organization has locations in Conshohocken, Perkiomenville and Abington, and is in the development phase of building its new headquarters in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.
