Sourcing Manager

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Sourcing Manager on behalf of our client, a global leader in industrial coating resins, adhesives, sealants, and specialty coatings. This role is ideal for a commercially driven procurement professional with extensive experience in the chemical industry and a deep understanding of chemical feedstocks, value chains, and market dynamics. The Sourcing Manager will develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for critical raw materials, balancing cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and risk management while serving as a trusted business partner to cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for direct raw materials using Requests for Proposal (RFPs), supplier negotiations, and portfolio management.
• Lead complex supplier negotiations to optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), pricing, contract terms, and supply security.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct quarterly business reviews focused on performance, innovation, cost competitiveness, and risk mitigation.
• Analyze chemical market trends, feedstock pricing, and supply-demand dynamics to provide actionable business recommendations.
• Serve as the Procurement Business Partner, translating market intelligence into sourcing strategies that improve margin and business performance.
• Identify and develop alternative suppliers and sourcing strategies to strengthen supply chain resilience.
• Lead Management of Change (MOC) processes for new suppliers and raw materials.
• Prepare monthly price variance analyses, forecasts, and market outlooks to support financial planning.
• Deliver annual cost savings and value improvement initiatives through strategic sourcing and supplier optimization.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, finance, operations, and business leadership to support strategic initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes, supplier performance, and procurement effectiveness.

Requirements Include: Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience within the chemical, specialty chemicals, oil & gas, or related manufacturing industries.
• Proven success leading strategic sourcing initiatives for direct raw materials.
• Extensive experience negotiating supplier contracts and managing supplier relationships.
• Experience managing large procurement spend and driving measurable cost savings.
• Experience working with SAP and Ariba Sourcing is preferred.

Skills:

• Advanced strategic sourcing and procurement expertise.
• Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent financial acumen, including cost modeling, pricing analysis, and margin optimization.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.

Certifications:

• Professional procurement certifications such as CPSM, CPSD, CSCP, or equivalent are a plus.

Knowledge:

• Chemical feedstocks, value chains, and manufacturing cost drivers.
• Strategic sourcing methodologies and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
• Market intelligence, commodity pricing, and supply chain risk management.
• Procurement governance and supplier performance management.
• ERP systems, particularly SAP and Ariba.
• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards.
