The Town of Vienna's Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking a Part-Time Custodian to help maintain the Vienna Community Center and surrounding areas. You'll be part of a supportive, energetic team that values service, community, and teamwork.What You'll Do:Performing routine cleaning and general janitorial dutiesPreparing rooms for programs, classes, and community eventsMaintaining the cleanliness and security of the buildingUsing cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and blowersSupporting special events as part of a collaborative teamInteracting with staff, program participants, and community members in a friendly and helpful wayWork Schedule: Hours may vary: Monday - Sunday- Evenings 10 to 20 hours per week. All new employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. A conditional offer of employment may then be made contingent upon the successful completion of a drug test.Essential Functions:Cleans and maintains building.Checks schedule for daily/weekly programs/activities; and assists with room preparation as needed.Maintains security of building at all times; secures doors and windows after business hours.Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals.Assists with inspection of facilities.Operates various equipment including floor cleaners, leaf blower, vacuum cleaner.Performs housekeeping duties such as dusting, cleaning, disinfecting, sweeping, mopping vacuum cleaning, replacing and replenishing supplies, washing walls and windows, and cleaning restrooms.Additional Duties: Picks up trash in and around buildings. Provides back up support. Performs related work as assigned.Minimum Training and Experience: Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent. Preference may be given to applicants with one to two years of custodial experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
