Receive, scan, verify cargo quantities based on customer requirements. Identify and transport cargo to and from warehouse into containers. Authorization to operate heavy equipment will be provided by the company.Must be able understand English at a basic level.Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information.Ability to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.Ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative.Possess organizational and time management skills.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors and fellow employees.Ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions.Ability to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.Preferred:High School diploma or equivalentDuties And Responsibilities: PrimaryOperates forklift to move cargo from warehouse staging area and fill containers continuouslySet up pallets in staging area, completing shipments using forklift to obtain items from shelves throughout warehouseManually pick and pull items from racks based on pick tickets or Loading guides to complete orders.Receive, scan, and verify cargo quantities based on company procedures and customer requirementsIdentify and transport cargo to and from warehouse into containers, palletize cargo, scan and wrap manuallyUtilize forklift to move palletized cargo to final staging areaLoad and unload containers, delivery trucks manually and/or with lift/dolly and verifies incoming and outgoing cargo by weighing, counting and documentingInform supervisor immediately of any discrepancies, damages and/or spoiled cargoConveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areasEnsure that cargo is loaded in appropriate container or trailer for shipmentObtain boxes for repackaging items and labelingChecks and arranges for regular maintenance of forklift.Changes propane tanks, oil and water, etc. Reports electrical and/or mechanical difficulties to warehouse mechanicMaintain awareness of all surroundings (i.e. trucks, people etc.) at all times in order to avoid collisions.Duties And Responsibilities: SecondaryObtains work assignments from supervisor and determines if additional tools are neededMarks materials with identifying informationEnsure that cargo is placed in the corresponding area out (for the port destination)Removes empty skids or pallets and stacks in designated area for future usageSweeps work area for cleanliness as neededPerform additional related duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsSubjection to physical and/or DOT Screening may be required along with other tests as applicable.The employee is frequently required to sit while operating the forklift but it is intermittentThe employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, reach forward, and exercise repetitive foot and wrist motion and finger dexterity.The employee must frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds, occasionally pushing and pulling up to 50 poundsThe employee will continuously grasp, and exercise eye-hand coordination and eye-hand-foot coordination.The employee is occasionally required to climb, bend forward, squat, reach overhead and pinch.The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Safety RequirementsReport safety hazards.Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, or property damage.Wear appropriate PPE as instructed by immediate supervisor.Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and rules.Refuse any unsafe task or operation.Participate in safety meetings and training.Be constantly aware of their personal safety and that of their coworkers.ConditionsExposure to all possible environmental factors such as extreme heat, rain, wind and high humidity during day and night shifts.
