Position: Senior Business Process Consultant Location: Mobile, AL or Deerfield Beach, FL Hybrid 3x a week onsite Duration: 6-12 month contract + extensions Pay Range: $55-67/hr (based off experience) Desired Experience Required 10+ years of experience in business process improvement, business transformation, operational excellence, business architecture, or process consulting. Experience assessing and maturing large collections of existing business documentation. Ability to quickly understand complex business ecosystems and interdependencies. Strong facilitation and elicitation skills. Experience identifying process, operational, and documentation gaps. Demonstrated ability to create practical frameworks, standards, and governance approaches. Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset. Preferred Modernization, transformation, or large-scale implementation experience. Experience with Business Process Management (BPM) methodologies. Experience establishing coverage, traceability, or maturity frameworks. Experience organizing business information for reporting, analytics, or automation initiatives. Financial services, banking, insurance, lending, or similarly complex operational environments. Senior Business Process Consultant Engagement Overview Seeking an experienced Business Process Consultant to support a large-scale business modernization and testing initiative. The primary objective of this engagement is not to create new business processes, requirements, or test cases, but to assess, evaluate, organize, and mature an existing body of business journey documentation, testing assets, process flows, and operational knowledge. The consultant will help establish a structured, measurable framework that enables the organization to understand completeness, identify gaps, improve consistency, and create a foundation for reporting, planning, and future automation. This individual must be highly skilled at reviewing existing documentation, rapidly understanding complex business ecosystems, identifying missing information, facilitating focused discussions with subject matter experts, and translating findings into actionable frameworks and standards. Primary Responsibilities Assess Existing Materials Review business journey documentation, process maps, testing assets, operational procedures, and supporting artifacts. Evaluate documentation quality, consistency, and completeness. Identify gaps, overlaps, inconsistencies, and areas requiring clarification. Determine whether existing documentation sufficiently represents end-to-end business processes and testing needs. Define practical standards for assessing completeness across business journeys and related documentation. Recommend industry best practices for documenting business processes, operational scenarios, business roles, and system interactions. Develop repeatable methods for identifying and tracking documentation and coverage gaps. Conduct working sessions with business SMEs, operational teams, and testing teams. Ask targeted questions to uncover missing business knowledge, process variations, dependencies, and business rules. Translate discussions into documented findings and actionable recommendations. Organize Information for Reuse and Analysis Catalog and classify information such as: Business roles Process steps Integration points Business events and triggers Outcomes and decision points Business scenarios and variations Develop logical frameworks and taxonomies that make information easier to understand, maintain, and report on. Support Measurement and Maturity Improvement Develop measurable approaches for evaluating process and testing coverage. Recommend methods for tracking completeness across individual journeys, process families, and end-to-end business capabilities.
