Role Description The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Cookeville, TN. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care to pediatric patients, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions. Daily responsibilities include conducting well-child visits, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing evidence-based care plans. The role involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, and other team members to coordinate care, promote preventive health, and support families through education and counseling. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold clinic policies and regulatory standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess advanced practice clinical skills in Nurse Practitioner practice, with a focus on Pediatric Nursing. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in Medicine and Primary Care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and preventive care for children and adolescents. Candidates should possess core Nursing competencies such as patient advocacy, clinical judgment, and safe, compassionate care delivery. Current, unrestricted RN and APRN/Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Tennessee, with national certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (or eligibility) is strongly preferred. Experience in pediatric primary care or family practice in outpatient or clinic settings is beneficial. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Ability to work independently, manage a clinical schedule, and use electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.
