State Kansas Postal Code 66204 Job Description Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and report observations and concerns to the registered nurse or behavioral health clinician. Implements patient-centered care and trauma-informed care. Creates and supports a therapeutic environment for safe treatment implementation. Performs observation rounds on assigned patients, documenting in real time, in order to detect behavior patterns. Utilizes clear and positive communication skills to assess and provide therapeutic intervention for patients' and families' needs and concerns. Records measures of patients' general physical condition, such as vital signs and blood glucose levels, as ordered. Orients patients and families to the unit. Identifies early signs of escalation in patients and effectively de-escalates. Intervenes to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal patients as required, and monitors patients in restraints according to policy guidelines. Performs environmental rounds per policy and report unsafe conditions. Manages or assists with daily group activities.
