Supervising Psychologist 1 (Clinical) We are seeking a qualified psychologist to join the behavioral health clinical leadership team at the Connecticut Department of Correction. The position is first‑shift, 40 hours per week, located at Carl‑Robinson Correction Institution (Enfield, CT) or MacDougall‑Walker Correction Institution (Suffield, CT). This hazardous‑duty position requires successful completion of a 3.5‑week hazardous‑duty training. Position Highlights First shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday Full‑time, 40 hours per week Locations: Enfield or Suffield; future postings may be available at other correctional facilities Responsibilities Supervise a major independent clinical psychology program Plan, develop, implement, and coordinate new service programs Schedule, assign, oversee, and review the work of staff Provide staff training and assistance Conduct performance evaluations Determine priorities and plan program work; establish and maintain program procedures Develop or make recommendations on policies and standards Act as liaison with other operating units, agencies, and outside officials regarding program policies and procedures Select and administer a variety of objective and projective psychodiagnostic tests Evaluate individuals’ level of function and supervise staff in developing individualized treatment plans Provide consultation on complex cases; address professional and lay groups Design, implement, and direct psychological research programs as appropriate Conduct psychological testing, deliver individual psychotherapy, and implement behavior‑management strategies Lead multidisciplinary clinical teams and provide clinical supervision Provide clinical consultative services within the facility for complex cases Engage in collaborative care planning with external support services and research‑driven programming Qualifications Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology At least two (2) years of post‑doctoral experience as a licensed clinical psychologist Active license to practice psychology in Connecticut Considerable knowledge of abnormal and clinical psychology, psychological test administration, and research design Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Ability to make diagnoses, develop treatment plans, conduct psychotherapy, and supervise clinical staff Preferred Qualifications Experience with forensic or justice‑involved clients Experience supervising psychologists and/or licensed mental‑health professionals Experience working within a bargaining‑unit workplace Benefits Industry‑leading health benefits including medical and dental coverage Extensive pension plan and supplemental retirement offerings Paid time off, including 13 paid holidays per calendar year Professional growth and paid professional development opportunities Work culture promoting a healthy work‑life balance EEO Statement The State of Connecticut is an equal‑opportunity/affirmative action employer and strongly encourages applications from women, minorities, and persons with disabilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr CT
