Account Executive, Commercial Lines

Opportunity The Account Executive is responsible for managing and expanding an assigned book of business by building strong client relationships and delivering proactive, consultative service. The role supports Producers in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business. In partnership with Producers, the Account Executive oversees all aspects of account management, including program design, carrier marketing and negotiation, risk control coordination, and collaboration with HUB colleagues to ensure high‑quality service delivery. Duties & Responsibilities Serve as the primary consultant to the client on assigned accounts and oversee the management of the account. Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with client executives and decision makers. Build and maintain relationships with carrier marketing, underwriting, and risk control staff. Support Producers in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business; provide guidance and assume primary relationship management when appropriate. Coordinate delivery of all HUB services—stewardship reports, risk control, carrier meetings, claims reviews, coverage outlines, and marketing—ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality. Collaborate with Account Team colleagues and HUB resources; coach, train, and mentor team members. Conduct annual client reviews and provide coverage, risk mitigation, and loss control recommendations to reduce cost of risk. Manage the HUB Top 20% process and participate in Critical Path meetings to support strategic account oversight. Identify opportunities for cross‑sell and up‑sell of HUB products and services; document client purchases from other providers. Support resolution of significant claims through collaboration with HUB and carrier claims teams. Apply advanced knowledge of HUB tools and industry resources to manage complex or high‑profile accounts. Maintain current receivable status; pursue collection of past‑due balances and document unresolved items. Ensure compliance with HUB procedures and federal/state insurance regulations. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (college degree strongly preferred). At least 7+ years of related commercial insurance experience. Property & Casualty license. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Excellent oral and written communication with internal and external customers. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public. Critical thinking: use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions. Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry. Handle customer needs, solicit feedback, and manage difficult emotions promptly. Confidence and demeanor to interact effectively at all organizational levels. Develop and maintain strong client relationships; work with vendors to meet client needs. Work effectively with a team and coach others. Gather relevant information, analyze, and solve problems in a timely manner. Problem solving: identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions. Prioritize and organize multiple tasks to meet deadlines with accuracy. Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and agency management systems. Calculate figures and figures such as discounts, commissions, and percentages. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Primarily stationary during the workday. Frequent communication with colleagues and clients in person and by telephone. Continuous use of a computer and office equipment. Occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets and machinery. Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $140,000 – $150,000k depending on geographical location.
