In certain situations, they will also assist other craft workers in their endeavors.ScheduleFull -Time; Monday Friday (Saturdays depend on work load) (hours depend on crew and job site)Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesTo be effective, Equipment Operator must:Be able to operate a variety of heavy equipmentLocate and work in areas that involve utilities and other buried items prior to diggingMaintain a clean job site: pick up tools and equipment as well as secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazardsBe familiar with material handling and storageEnsure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followedCommunicate effectively with Superintendent/Foreman, Safety Manager, Safety Officer or HR Manager to inform them of any potential safety issuesTechnical SkillsKnowledge of proper use of heavy equipment, materials and supplies used in construction workOther Skills and AbilitiesSome knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautionsAbility to work independently and complete daily activities according to work scheduleAbility to repeatedly lift and carry heavy objects (50 pounds)Ability to communicate orally and in writingAbility to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructionsAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistencyEducationAny combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.Special Requirements: Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to and at all times during employment.The Hughes Companies; Hughes General Contractors, Inc., Lakeview Rock Products, Inc., and Preferred Paving, LLC. are equal opportunity employers and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
