Job Title: Dental Assistant

Location: Jamaica, NY

Position Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Pay Rate:

• Local: $23–$28/hour

• Traveler: $26–$31/hour

Shift & Schedule:

• Day Shift

• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

• 37.5 hours per week

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Dental Assistant to support a busy dental clinic by assisting dentists during procedures, preparing patients, maintaining equipment, and ensuring high standards of patient care and infection control.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for dental examinations and treatments.

• Assist dentists during chairside procedures.

• Sterilize dental instruments using an autoclave.

• Maintain dental equipment and treatment areas.

• Mix dental materials, including amalgams, cements, and composites.

• Take, develop, and mount dental radiographs (X-rays).

• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

• Perform assigned dental laboratory procedures.

• Follow infection prevention and safety protocols.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Completion of an approved Dental Assistant training program or qualifying work experience as outlined by the facility.

• Experience assisting dentists during chairside procedures.

• Experience taking, developing, and mounting dental radiographs.

• Knowledge of instrument sterilization and infection control procedures.

• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.

Work Setting:

• Outpatient Dental Clinic

• Day Shift

• Full-Time Contract Assignment
