Route Driver-Delivery Driver-On Premise

Applicants must have a valid driver's license for this position. You may need to obtain a Motor Vehicle Report from your license state of issuance if that state does not provide MVRs to third parties.***A Texas driver's license must be obtained in order to maintain eligibility to drive on behalf of Spec's per the insurance company. Texas requires all new resident drivers to obtain a Texas license within 90 days of residing in the state.The individuals who perform this job are experienced drivers that can function as part of a team as well as effectively function independently. This position requires the safe and timely delivery of assigned loads to final destinations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Know and actively demonstrate, daily, our Company Mission Statement and our Core Values.Maintain uniform standard, as detailed in the Employee Manual, for all worked hours.Maintain a clear driving record.Maintain safe driving practices and speeds.Maintain a neat and orderly vehicle.Move supplies and equipment when needed to ensure efficient storage space in delivery vehicle.Receive and verify contents of all shipments to be delivered.Make notes on invoices showing variances and products damaged during store deliveries.Return products damaged during deliveries, including TABC tax stamps.Maintain driver route sheet after every stop.Ensure compliance with standardized filing system for store-to-store transfer paperwork and pick-ups.May be required to assist in unloading based on location needs.Receive payment for deliveries and verify amounts accurately.Inform manager of inventory issues or discrepancies with invoices encountered on route.Provide feedback to management regarding issues with delivery vans and box trucks.Carry out directives of management efficiently.Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.Create and maintain strong professional relationships with our customers.Provide superb customer service.Possess time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks.Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment.Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.Communicate with and understand team members and guests. See invoices, product, payment methods, and signage.Be able to use industrial machines to move full pallets that weigh up to 2400 pounds.Other projects or job duties assigned my managementAttendance and timeliness are required. We would like you to have a high school diploma or a general education degree (GED), but sometimes, experience is the best education.Language SkillsWe need you to be able to read, comprehend and write simple instructions or memos. You must be able to talk and communicate with coworkers and guests. Bilingual is a plus but not required.Mathematical SkillsYou need the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in both whole numbers and in fractions and decimals without the aid of calculator or abacus. Counting is a major plus too as your count becomes inventory.Attitudinal and Personal SkillsYou have the job. Now you need to do the job. You need to be responsible, reliable, and committed to providing excellent service. Patience, friendliness, and an outgoing personality are needed for success. You need to be a self-starter with a strong work ethic who completes job assignments in a timely fashion and then looks for the next task.HoursFull Time is typically 40 hours per week. Must be available to work any shift on Friday or Saturday and must be available 80% or more of all shifts each week.Part Time is up to 25 hours per weekWe schedule for the needs of our business. Working outside of your scheduled time without Store Manager approval is prohibited. In other words, you cannot decide to make up hours because you missed some time after a night out with your buddies unless your manager oks it.Reasoning AbilityYou need the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.Our ideal candidate should:Have a Valid Texas driver's license (CDL is not necessary)Have the ability to operate delivery vehicle in a variety of weather and traffic conditionsBe able to work in non-climate-controlled warehouseBe able to work in the elementsHave excellent organizational and time management skillsHave the ability to use pallet jack, carts and dolliesBe able to lift and carry heavy itemsBe able to climb laddersShould have a Flexible scheduleBe able to dolly merchandise 100+ lbs.Be able to work in a fast-paced settingBe able to dolly, push, pull and lift heavy merchandiseBe fast on your feetHave great customer serviceResponsibilities:- Safely and efficiently operate a box truck or tractor-trailer to deliver goods to designated locations- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including proof of delivery documents- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle- Communicate with dispatch or supervisor regarding any issues or delays during the delivery process- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with customers at delivery locationsExperience:- Previous experience as a route driver or in a similar driving role is preferred- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and ability to operate them confidently- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy items, as some deliveries may require heavy lifting- Experience operating a forklift or other warehouse equipment is a plus- Commercial driving experience is highly desirable, including knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance- Experience in moving or courier services is beneficial #J-18808-Ljbffr Spec's Family Partners
