This role partners cross functionally to align accounting outcomes with commercial activity, maintains strong governance and SOX compliance, and drives continuous improvement across close and reporting processes. You will also provide leadership and mentorship to accounting team members while supporting scalability and audit readiness as the business grows.Financial Close, Controls & ReportingSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close across all legal entities, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely reportingEstablish and enforce close calendars, ownership, and review standards to meet internal and external deadlinesReview and approve journal entries, ensuring timely preparation, appropriate support, and compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and SOX control requirementsOversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are fully supported, reviewed, and cleared of aged or unresolved itemsIdentify and resolve close, reconciliation, process, or system issues that may impact accuracy, controls, or timelinesMaintain strong governance, audit readiness, and SOX compliance through effective control execution, documentation, and remediationDrive continuous improvement to enhance close efficiency, scalability, and control effectivenessRevenue Recognition & AccountingOwn revenue recognition under ASC 606, with a focus on discounts, promotions, rebates, billbacks, trade spend, and contra-revenue accountingReview complex customer arrangements to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and alignment with commercial terms and internal policiesCross-Functional PartnershipPartner with Sales, Supply Chain, and FP&A to understand deal structures, promotional activity, and related accounting impactsTranslate technical accounting guidance into clear, practical direction for non-accounting stakeholdersServe as a trusted advisor on revenue and close-related matters across the organizationLeadership & Team DevelopmentProvide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to accounting team membersEstablish clear expectations and standards for quality, timeliness, and accountabilityFoster a culture of ownership, collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvementBachelor's degree in AccountingCPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a similar roleBig 4 public accounting experience (2+ years) preferred.Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accounting policies, and internal controlsExperience with ERP and/or financial reporting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX, OneStream, or similar)Prior experience in a consumer products (CPG) environment preferredAdvanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysisDemonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop teamsHighly resourceful problem solver with strong analytical skills and the ability to learn quicklyProven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.On-time and accurate financial close, with minimal post-close adjustmentsTimely completion and quality of balance sheet reconciliations, in compliance with company policyAccurate and timely management reporting to support business decision-makingStrong control environment and audit readiness, including SOX complianceTeam engagement and development, reflected in performance, accountability, and retentionNutrabolt cares about our teammates' physical, mental, and financial wellness by providing benefits like: competitive health insurance, life insurance, mental wellness programs, 401K matching, and a Lifestyle Spending Account.We offer unlimited vacation paid time off and volunteer time off.
