Full-Time Nurse Practitioner for Urgent Care in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional medical treatment and collaborative care focused on the needs of urgent care patients, including thorough physical examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, lab results, and EKGs, to inform clinical decision-making.
• Triage and manage patient care efficiently to maintain a steady patient flow and minimize wait times, ensuring timely access to medical attention.
• Perform a variety of procedures, such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, minor surgical procedures (e.g., wound closure and foreign body removal), and diagnostic/therapeutic interventions (e.g., joint injections).
• Administer IV fluids and conduct closed reductions for simple fractures or dislocations, including pediatric cases such as nursemaid's elbow.
• Review and manage ongoing patient tasks, callbacks, and lab results during shifts, upholding the highest standard of patient care and safety.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to advanced practice clinicians, leading day-to-day operations as the primary provider.
• Contribute to the development of care protocols and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will care for a diverse patient population ranging from infants to the elderly. You will address a wide spectrum of healthcare needs, including acute illnesses, injuries, and minor emergencies, making your role critical in delivering both urgent and preventative care in the community.

Qualifications

• Current RN Licensure: Must hold a valid state license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Florida.
• Nurse Practitioner Licensure: Possess a valid Florida NP license, along with current national certification.
• Medical License: Maintain an unrestricted medical license to practice in Florida.
• Controlled Substance License: Required to have a controlled substance license and an active Florida DEA license.
• Clinical Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in an urgent care, emergency room, or similar healthcare setting is essential.
• Education: A Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a Bachelor's/Master's in Science (BS/MS) is required.
• Work Availability: Flexibility to work two full weekends per month is preferred.
• APRN State License: Must maintain a valid APRN license in Florida.
• DEA#: An active and current DEA number is required for prescribing medications.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 1 year in an urgent care or emergency setting is required, additional experience in pediatric care, acute care, or outpatient settings will be considered advantageous. Preferences will also be given to candidates with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 140,000 to USD 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
