RPSGT | Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - Night Shift

Join a dedicated team providing exceptional respiratory therapy services within a sleep diagnostic center located in the Midwest region. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient care by administering sleep studies and respiratory treatments while ensuring clear communication with healthcare providers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform diagnostic tests and treatments including oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, baseline sleep studies, and CPAP titration, monitoring patients closely for any adverse reactions.
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as oxygen flowmeters, pulse oximeters, sleep test consoles, CPAP/BiPAP devices, thermistors, and video monitoring tools.
• Prepare and dismantle sleep and respiratory therapy equipment as needed for patient care.
• Accurately process daily patient charges in accordance with established policies.
• Document clinical observations, patient tolerance, therapy details, and any adverse events in medical records.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, including emergency interventions like CPR when necessary.
• After competency validation, initiate and manage CPAP or BiPAP therapy parameters following protocols.
• Conduct patient interviews and assessments, performing required testing per departmental guidelines.
• Maintain departmental statistical records and collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal testing and therapy approaches.
• Provide compassionate care tailored to patients' age, diagnosis, and disabilities, fostering a safe environment at all times.

Education and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in a sleep laboratory setting is essential.

Licensure and certifications:

• Preferred: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST).
• Considered: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) candidates willing to complete A-STEP Online Self Study Modules within two years or those enrolled in or graduated from a polysomnography program accredited by CAAHEP or CoARC.

Work schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week.
