Lead Developer

JOB SUMMARY


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Developer to join a dynamic technology team in San Antonio, TX. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable, high-performance applications using a modern cloud-native technology stack.


The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in AWS, Apache Flink, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, and cloud-native development. This individual will play a key role in delivering enterprise-scale solutions, mentoring team members, and driving innovation within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Design, develop, and implement scalable applications and services using Java and Spring Boot.


• Build and maintain RESTful APIs to support system integrations and secure data exchange across platforms.


• Develop and manage real-time data streaming solutions using Apache Kafka and Apache Flink.


• Design, deploy, and support cloud-native applications on AWS utilizing services such as EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and Step Functions.


• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to support automated and repeatable deployments.


• Build, deploy, and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).


• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and key stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.


• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development team members.


• Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure application reliability and performance.


• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve system defects and performance issues.


• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for systems, processes, and codebases.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.


• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.


• Proven experience developing and supporting Apache Flink pipeline jobs.


• Experience with AWS services including EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and Step Functions.


• Experience developing in Golang, particularly within AWS EKS and Lambda environments.


• Hands-on experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).


• Strong proficiency in Java and deep understanding of Spring Boot frameworks.


• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.


• Experience with Apache Kafka or similar streaming and messaging platforms.


• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.


• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.


• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Experience working within Agile software development environments.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


• Prior experience working within financial services or large-scale enterprise environments.


• Experience leading, mentoring, or managing software development teams.


• Exposure to microservices architecture and event-driven systems.

CERTIFICATIONS


• AWS Certified Developer - Associate (Preferred)


• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (Preferred)


• HashiCorp Terraform Associate Certification (Preferred)


• Kubernetes and/or Docker-related certifications (Preferred)
