Job Details Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Progressive Care RN Employment Type: Travel Nursing Location: Olathe, Kansas Setting: On-site hospital nursing Start Date: 9/27/2026 Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Shift Duration: 12 hours Shifts Per Week: 3 Hours Per Week: 36 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Floating: Required to ICU and all inpatient units as needed, including med/surg, med/tele, acute/tele, and ED Orientation: Structured onboarding and Epic EMR training included Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130 Job Requirements Active Kansas RN license or compact RN license BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification required At least 2 years of recent Critical Care, ICU, Progressive Care, or Emergency Department nursing experience Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills in a high-acuity environment Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs Comfortable working without a vascular access team and initiating appropriate consults independently Ability to respond to codes and support open-heart day 2 or day 3 patients with pacer wires Previous experience floating across inpatient units and ED preferred Nicotine-free facility compliance required Responsibilities Deliver safe, compassionate care to progressive care patients with varied acuity levels Monitor patients closely and respond promptly to changes in condition Manage complex respiratory and cardiovascular support needs within PCU nursing standards Perform bedside nursing tasks such as lab draws, line care, and support with procedures Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment, consults, and patient flow Assist with codes and urgent clinical situations as needed Float to other inpatient units and the ED when assigned and qualified Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit policies and best practices Apply now for this PCU RN travel nursing opportunity in Olathe, Kansas, and join a dedicated healthcare team today.
