The front desk/host position ensures positive first impressions and guides guests through retail, game rental and dining experiences. Responsibilities Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through food, drinks and games. Act as ambassador, greeting guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while coordinating game rentals, merchandise sales, and telephones. Keep immediate supervisor promptly informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary. Bid farewell to guests leaving, ensuring satisfaction and inviting return. Prepare for the shift by ensuring the area is stocked with supplies: menus, silverware, power cards, gift cards, etc. Review cleanliness and organization of the front desk and host station. Ensure all menus are stocked and properly cleaned and maintained. Maintain inventory of merchandise during and after shift. Maintain favorable working relationships with other team members to foster a cooperative climate. Notify manager of any guest perceived to be unhappy. Assist other team members as needed or as business dictates. Drive table turn timing by scouting open tables, bussing and cleaning tables as necessary. Rotate seating appropriately following guidelines to ensure fairness and balance. Manage flow from the front doors, efficiently helping guests with needs and directing as needed. Manage wait times and communicate information as needed to guests, team members, and managers. Deliver silverware as guests are seated. Make timely and accurate calculations of bill transactions. Greet and assist guests efficiently and with a smile while processing transactions. Reconcile any monies from banks. Complete “To Go” order transactions for guests and ensure accuracy. Sell merchandise from the front desk, if applicable. Be friendly and able to smile frequently. Qualifications Restaurant, retail, or cashier experience preferred. Strong communicator capable of engaging multiple guests. Dressed in accordance with dress guidelines, looking neat, clean, professional. Proficient in English communication. Skilled at calmly responding to dissatisfied guests and escalating issues. Minimum age 16 years. Physical Demands Work days, nights, and/or weekends as required. Work in noisy, fast paced environment with distracting conditions. Read and write handwritten notes. Lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Move about facility and stand for long periods of time.
